PICTURE SPECIAL: New community festival goes down a storm in Warwick

A BRAND new community festival in Warwick was such a success it could become an annual event.

The first ever Warwick Pursuits Festival took place at St Nicholas Park on Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23 with a bumper-packed programme of events for all the family.

The two-day event focused on everything from history and literature, music and dance, to theatre and art and sports and well-being.

The weekend was filled with live music, food, drink, workshops, demonstrations, and local information.

Highlights included Bia’s Kitchen Show, the Thrive Bus – which provided a variety of games for children – demonstrations from Leamington Rugby Club and interactive sessions with Warwick A Singing Town,

Festival director Kate Livingston said: “I’m absolutely overwhelmed with the response to Pursuits Festival and really hope that we can make it an annual thing. The feedback from the public suggests that a free local event is exactly what Warwick needed, especially in one of their favourite parks.”
