Renewed appeal for witnesses to fatal Ryton crash

Leamington Editorial 26th Jul, 2019   0

WITNESSES to a fatal car crash in Ryton on Dunsmore – including a man who called police claiming to have dashcam footage but did not leave his number – are being asked to come forward by police.

At around 5.50am on Thursday July 4, a grey Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution hit a tree on the A423, between the junctions of Hillman Way and Glenfern Gardens.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Coventry, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw any other cars in the area at the time and the manner in which they were being driven.

Officers particularly want to hear from a man who left a message to say he was at the scene and has dashcam footage, but did not leave his number.

Anyone has any information, including HGV drivers who have dashcam footage of the A45 Finham towards Coventry Tollbar Island between 5.45am-6am, is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 33 of July 4.
