Time to dig out the spandex for Glow for Myton

FUNDRAISERS are being called to don their leg warmers and their spandex for The Myton Hospices.

The charity is once again putting on its Glow for Myton event to raise vital cash – and this year it will have an 80s theme.

Hundreds of fundraisers will step up for the cause and walk, jog, dance or run their way around Coventry City Centre on Saturday October 19.

Starting and finishing at the HMV Empire Coventry, everyone who takes part will receive a bespoke Glow for Myton medal.

There will also be a balloon prize drop, a heart-pumping warm-up, and confetti cannons to launch participants on their 5km journey.

An after party will be held back at HMV with Tropicana 80s Band, a tribute to the very best 80s classics, followed by a DJ to close the night. And there will be an 80s fancy dress competition.

Myton spokesperson Charlotte Ingram said: “Glow for Myton is guaranteed to be a great night out with the added feel-good factor of supporting a vital local charity. This year we need to raise more than ever before; £11 million of the £14.3 million it costs to provide our services free of charge to people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, across Coventry and Warwickshire. To do this we need the support of our local community and we would love to see you there.”
