Man named and charged following suspected stabbing in Leamington's Pump Room Gardens

A 21 YEAR-old man has been charged following a suspected stabbing in Leamington’s Pump Room Gardens on Tuesday afternoon (August 11).

Ibrahim Diallo, of no fixed abode, has been charged with wounding with intent. He is due to appear at Leamington Magistrates today.

A 16 year-old boy from Warwick has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed until September 15 while inquiries continue.

The victim, in his 20s, is being treated at Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry for the injuries, which are not thought to be life changing or life threatening.




Police were called to the gardens shortly before 2pm after a man sustained injuries to his shoulder, believed to have been caused by a ‘bladed weapon’.

Officers, including forensic specialists, were working at both ends of the Lindon Arches running parallel to the Parade, during the afternoon.


Police reported a weapon was recovered from the scene.

Anyone saw the incident or who has information is urged to contact DC 534 Marcus Franklin on 101 quoting incident number 201 of August 11.
