SIX Kenilworth Runners finished inside the top ten at the Ryton Pools five-mile race last Thursday.
A total of 57 Kenilworth Runners took part in the event which was the second race in the Warwickshire Road Race League and participants were presented with sunny and cool conditions.
The Kenilworth men had a particularly good evening with Stephen Page finishing third overall in 27.13 and he was closely followed by Andrew Siggers (27.18) and Kev Hope (28.01) in sixth. Steve Marr (28.18), Stuart Hopkins (28.36) and Stanley Doxey (28.39) also finished inside the top ten.
For the ladies, Sarah Rose had an excellent run finishing as the fastest lady in 30.49, while Louise Andrews (34.40) was seventh and Dannielle Mohacsi (35.53) finished 13th. The race was won by Alistair Smith of Coventry Godiva in 26.13.
Ten Kenilworth Runners were back in action on Monday to take part in the 10km Vitality London race.
Starting on The Mall and finishing on the Spur Road opposite Buckingham Palace, the race follows a clockwise route around the City of Westminster and the City of London. It passes many of London’s famous sights including Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Bank of England, the Old Bailey, Somerset House, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
Andrew Siggers had an excellent run finishing in 57th position in a time of 33.05 and he was followed closely by Stephen Page who crossed the finish line in 33.27 to finish 79th.
A new personal best time of 41.25 for Laura Pettifer saw her finish 128th overall and Dannielle Bryan was 147th fastest lady in 43.04.
