RACING Club Warwick dropped to second in the table after their four-game winning run in the league came to an end following a 1-1 draw with Histon.

Josh Parsons scored a spectacular overhead kick to rescue a point for Warwick late on after James Burnside opened the scoring for Histon at Bridge Road.

And the result means the Racers drop to second in the United Counties League Premier Division South table, two points behind leaders Wellingborough Town.

The home side took the lead on 44 minutes when Burnside’s spectacular volley from the edge of the penalty area bounced off the underside of the crossbar and over the line.

However, the visitors rescued a point two minutes from time as Parsons produced a sublime overhead kick into the bottom left corner from eight-yards out from Luke Shearer’s floated cross.

Racing are next in action away at Leicester Nirvana on Tuesday, January 16 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Hamilton Park.
