RACING Club Warwick advanced to the Birmingham Senior Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 victory against Darlaston Town.
First-half goals from Luke Shearer and Cameron Ebbutt sealed a comfortable win for the Racers at Townsend Meadow.
The Racers had already knocked out both Solihull Moors and Birmingham City prior to their win against Darlaston having lost to the latter side in the FA Cup earlier this season.
Warwick twice went close to breaking the deadlock before Shearer eventually put the home side ahead from the penalty spot on 23 minutes after Darlaston handled a Louis Monaghan shot in the box.
And the Racers doubled their lead five minutes later as Ebbutt bundled the ball home after a dangerous corner unsettled the Darlaston defence.
Racing had chances to add to their lead as Monaghan fired against the crossbar while Callum Carsley curled a shot narrowly wide of the target and Ssonko Pius went close late on.
Warwick travel to Skegness Town on Saturday, February 24 in the quarter-finals of the League Cup with kick-off at 3pm at the Vertigo Stadium.
