AN AMBULANCE crashed on the M40 while carrying a critically-ill toddler and her mother.
The two-year-old was being transferred from Warwick Hospital to Horton Hospital in Banbury with suspected meningitis in the early hours of Thursday morning (February 18) when the crash happened.
The child and her mother were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford following the crash.
Two members of staff from West Midlands Ambulance Service were taken to Warwick Hospital as a precaution.
The driver was unhurt while the attendant, who was travelling in the back, had minor injuries.
A spokesperson said the trust was carrying out an internal investigation and would be working with the police to establish what happened.
