Residents and businesses to have their say on Transforming Leamington

Leamington Editorial 2nd May, 2024   0

BUSINESSES and residents are encouraged to give their views on the Transforming Leamington project.

Transforming Leamington is an initiative committed to making Leamington town centre a great place for people to live, work, shop and socialise.

Extensive work was undertaken in 2018 on A Vision for Leamington Town Centre by the then Town Centre Forum. A lot has happened since, including the Covid pandemic and recognition of the global Climate Emergency.

As a result, the town centre is having to evolve at an unprecedented pace in response to these factors and the Vision for the town is also undergoing a refresh.

The Leamington Transformation Board, made up of all three levels of local authority, is working with all involved in the town centre over the coming months to develop that shared Vision.

The aim is to prepare a refreshed 2024 Vision document for the town centre that will be underpinned by themes and objectives that everyone can engage with and have their say on.

Projects in the pipeline – or already underway – include a vision for refreshing the Parade, the Town Hall Creative Hub, the Stoneleigh Arms/Old School redevelopment and the Spa Centre Public Art project.

Anyone with an interest in protecting and improving the town is invited to meet the team behind the project, see the emerging ideas and have their say on Wednesday May 8.

The meeting is taking place at the Old Town Drop-in on Mill Street between 5pm and 7.30pm.
