The town centre grounds have come first in the West Midlands category in a campaign to find the nation’s best picnic spot.
Nearby Ryton Pools in Bubbenhall was runner-up.
Winning locations were picked based on their ‘outstanding natural beauty’ and historical significance.
The competition was organised by National Picnic Week, which was set up to encourage people to enjoy the great outdoors.
