A NURSERY in Leamington is celebrating a new initiative in childcare.
Co-operative Childcare will offer 30 free hours of childcare to parents, every week, as part of a new government scheme.
Currently, all three and four year-olds in England are entitled to 570 hours of free childcare a year, which is often taken as 15 hours a week during term time.
But under a new government scheme starting in September, some families with working parents or carers will be eligible for double that amount, which can be taken as 30 hours a week.
To celebrate, the nursery is offering its social media supporters the chance to win family-friendly prizes throughout September, including travel vouchers, art equipment and toys.
There will also be an open day on Saturday September 9, where families can explore the facilities and services on offer.
Nursery manager Julie Clarke said: “At the heart of our childcare is a commitment to giving each child the freedom to have fun and learn in their own way, building their self-confidence and awareness of the world around them as they grow.
“We’d urge any families interested in finding out more about our nurseries – and the 30 hours of free childcare – to pop along to our local open day for a chat.”
