Success for Macmillan coffee morning in Warwick

A FANTASTIC £805.62 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support at a coffee morning in Warwick.

Staff from Warwickshire Vision Support held the event on September 29 in conjunction with the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

It featured a display of cakes with handmade sweet bags and takeaway boxes, along with a table of hot drinks.

Nothing was priced up at the coffee morning – people were asked to make donations, and it was those which made up the impressive total.

Imogen Edwards and Joanne Swann were inspired to organise and host the event in memory of a close friend who recently lost their cancer battle.

Imogen said: “We had seen it advertised on TV so thought what better time to raise money for Macmillan.

“We had a great turn out of people and cakes.

“Any leftover cake was sliced up at the end and offered to employees of nearby offices, along with some of the remaining sweet bags, for a small donation.

“It was a wonderful day that was enjoyed by everyone – and all for a very worthwhile course.”Visit www.macmillan.org.uk/ for more information on what the charity do.
