Singing teachers pick up the microphone for charity

Leamington Editorial 10th Dec, 2017   0

TEACHERS have put down their marking pens and picked up a microphone to raise money for charity.

Staff at North Leamington School raised more than £1,000 for Children in Need by holding their own Stars in their Eyes competition.

Some 40 staff members belted out hits from the likes of S Club 7 and Elvis, with the winning teachers performing Macklemore’s recent hit Can’t Hold Us.

A spokesman told the Observer: “Staff rolled back the years and made use of all that time during mis-spent youth singing to a hairbrush in front of the mirror.

“We are delighted so many terrific staff and students have supported such a great charity.”
