Plans for McDonalds restaurant and drive-thru to be built in Warwick

PLANS have been submitted for a McDonald’s restaurant and drive-thru to be built in Warwick.

The company hopes to build a 24 hour restaurant and 31 spaces in the car park of Tesco’s supermarket.

It says some 65 jobs will be created if the planning application is approved.

A number of objections have been raised by residents who say there would be added traffic pressures on the already ‘horrendously busy’ Emscote Road. Another is concerned about levels of rubbish and business being taken away from local takeaways.

One resident has supported the application saying the current closest branch of the restaurant on Europa Way in Leamington is ‘ridiculously small’ and that the Tesco car park in Warwick is big enough for a branch of the fast-food chain.
