THEY were telling tales at Heathcote Primary School.
Housebuilder Barratt Homes, whose Warwick Gates development is next to the school, organised for a storyteller to visit the pupils to mark National Storytelling Week.
Professional storyteller Richard York, a member of the Society for Storytelling, spent the day at the brand new primary school in Heathcote telling stories to the pupils and engaging them in the literature.
Headteacher Lara Jeffries said: “We believe exposure to stories of all types really helps to develop writing skills in our pupils.
“This opportunity was a great way to link in with their fairy tale topic and the children loved it! Working alongside the community is vital for us as a new school and we hope to continue this productive relationship. A big thanks to Barratt Homes.”
