Tarsus Restaurant looks set to close to make way for new homes

Leamington Editorial 16th Nov, 2018   0

A RESTAURANT which has been in Southam for more than 30 years looks set to be demolished to make way for new homes.

Tarsus Hotel and Restaurant on Daventry Road could be knocked down and have five homes built in its place.

The building’s owners – who have run the Greek restaurant and 13 bedroom hotel since 1982 – say the number of nearby restaurants and hotels has seen business decline.

Mustafa Seyfi, who has submitted the application to Stratford District Council, hopes to demolish the building and build homes with four or more bedrooms and two parking spaces.

Tarsus is situated on part of the former Southam Zoo, which was home to the likes of tigers, panthers, and penguins.
