VISITORS to Victoria Park can enjoy a treat on their walks.
The park cafe is now running under the management of ice cream shop Swirls with longer opening hours.
And Friends of Victoria Park have welcomed the move and hope it will lead to further improvements.
A spokesman said: “When the Friends joined with the district council in surveying the views of more than a thousand park users, there were many pleas for higher quality and longer opening times for the café.
“We hope the council will now follow up this success with further responses to park user concerns – signs to upgraded toilets would be obvious improvements – pending work on ambitious plans to add to the attractions in the play area.”
The cafe is open Monday to Saturday between 8.30am and 6pm and Sundays from 10.30am to 4.30am.
