'It took me away from patients' says a Warwick nurse whose car was vandalised

A NURSE whose car was vandalised in Warwick has told of how the incident took her away from patients in need and left her with cuts to her hands.

The nurse, whose car was among several damaged on Millers Road on Sunday (February 21), described windows being smashed, bonnets dented and wing mirrors ripped off.

She stressed the incident had taken her away from her patients.

She said: “Not only is this an inconvenience to me, having to get this repaired throughout the day to be ready for my night shift – sacrificing my sleep, that’s a big deal – took me away from my patients for over two hours. Two hours from those in need.

“Instead I was making police statements and sorting my car, making it safe to drive home, cutting my hands on glass.”

Christopher James, of Sandringham Avenue, Stratford was arrested on Sunday night in connection with the incident, and later charged with three counts of criminal damage. He will appear at Warwickshire Magistrates’ Court on March 23.
