RACING Club Warwick recorded back-to-back victories for the first time since the opening weeks of the season with an impressive 2-1 win against Shifnal Town.

Racing snatched the points in the second half through James Hancocks’ penalty after Archie Hamp’s first Warwick goal had drawn the home side level at Townsend Meadow.

The result means the Racers sit 12th in the Midland Football League Premier Division table.

Shifnal took the lead when Ricardo Dudley inadvertently chested the ball past Warwick goalkeeper Dan Crane as he attempted to deal with Mikey Nelson’s dangerous cross.

The home side searched for an equaliser with Toby Scott’s effort well-saved by Shifnal goalkeeper Adam Whitehouse.

And Warwick deservedly drew level when Hamp swivelled to score his first goal for the club after Hancocks’ corner was knocked back into the area by Jamie Spiers.

Racing completed the turnaround when Hancocks found the corner from the penalty spot after Chris Mayuba was fouled in the box.

Warwick are next in action away at Uttoxeter Town on Tuesday, October 18 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Oldfields Sports Ground.
