ATHLETICS - Striders out in force at Regency 10k Run

SPA Striders were out in force for Leamington’s Regency 10k Run as almost 2,000 athletes took part in the race.

And Glen McIlreavy (40:09) was the first Strider home, just ahead of Darren Tosh (41:05) whilst Kelsey Wiberley (41:14) was the first female Strider across the line.

Next to finish were Andy Shilling (42:15), Ian Grime (44:15), Andrew Stone (44:43), Mark Robbins (44:50) and James Wiberley (44:57) who all crossed the line inside 45 minutes.

And posting sub 55-minute times were Martin Carty (47:42), Paul Carrott (48:23), Nora Mixova (50:08), Chas Ridgway (50:40), Ruth Tennant (51:29), Upen Vithlani (53:08), Elena Simpson (53:18), Nicholas Sillito (53:28), Will Richardson (53:43), David Sherratt (53:56), Dean Massey (54:01), Georgie Acton (54:04), Jacqui Quinney (54:37), Helen Edwards (54:51) and Allie Hesketh (54:51).




Next to finish were Tim Robb (55:23), Ian Davy (56:23), Gill Walker (56:59), Paul Palmer (57:21), Mary Whittaker (57:25), Rachel Goldsmith (57:25) and Kimberley Jenkins (57:41) who all completed the race inside an hour.

And the remaining Striders to finish were Aleksandra Fjerdingstad (1:01:46), Emily Grimmett (1:01:46), Jordan Underhill (1:02:36), Frankie Griffiths (1:08:19), Louise Fielding (1:16:51), Teresa Huggins (1:23:01) and Maria Struthers (1:23:01).


There were also more than 80 Striders who acted as marshals and supporters.

Over on the South Coast, George Smith (3:42:52) and Dee Galpin (3:55:23) both completed the resurrected Brighton Marathon whilst Alex Blackledge (58:52) competed over the 10k distance.

Closer to home, John Paul Hunt and Steve French took on the Coventry Way, a 41.1 mile offroad loop around the city, as the duo completed the event in seven hours and 17 minutes.
