MYTHS and Legends provide the inspiration for Coventry and Warwickshire Youth Orchestra’s concert this weekend.
The audience can expect film themes from the likes of Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean and How to Train Your Dragon, together with an eclectic mix of solos from
some of its older players, including music by Sibelius
The orchestra is made up of young people from the Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull areas who play at around Grade 5 level or above.
Once again, the 30 strong orchestra will be conducted by Joe Davies, who took up the baton with CWYO in January.
He currently conducts the Leamington Sinfonia, Worcester Philharmonic, and Midland Concert Orchestra, and has a strong record of working with youth orchestras, choirs
and other music groups, including youth orchestras.
The Myths and Legends concert is at St John’s Church in Kenilworth on Saturday December 9, starting at 6.30pm.
