AN UNUSUAL hand-crafted quilt has been given the People’s Choice award at Leamington Art Gallery’s Open exhibition.
The piece by artist Annabel Rainbow is called ‘Self Portrait in the Third Person’ and received the most votes from visitors to the gallery.
Annabel, who received £500 for her winning entry, said: “Quilts have long been used as an unrestricted voice of women’s creativity and I have chosen this medium to express my thoughts and feelings.”
The artist describes her quilt as exploring motherhood, domesticity, career, ambitions and age.
The quilt will be on display at the gallery until June 25.
