Scrooge The Musical at Leamington's Loft Theatre

Leamington Editorial 21st Nov, 2014 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

IT’S all humbug at Leamington’s Loft Theatre.

Scrooge The Musical is the company’s Christmas offering running from Wednesday (December 3) to December 8.

The production is an adaptation of Leslie Bricusse’s score and screenplay from the 1970 film starring Albert Finney, and was first staged for a West End production in 1992.

Based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol it follows miserly Ebenezer Scrooge as he is visited on Christmas Eve by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas Present, Past and Future.

Steve Smith – well known to audiences locally for his performances as leading man in musicals both for The Loft and also for Warwick & Leamington Musical Society – stars as Scrooge. He is supported by a large, talented cast of singers and dancers.

Director Tim Willis said: “Although everyone has worked hard during rehearsals, we have also had great fun bringing this classic story to life. We feel sure our audiences will enjoy this vibrant and uplifting musical and will leave the theatre in a festive mood.”
