A GLIMPSE through the shop window of yesteryear is on offer at Leamington Art Gallery and Museum.
Through the Shop Window, running until April 17, charts shopping in Leamington from the 1880s to the 1980s – including names such as Hall & Son, E. Francis & Co, Woodwards, Burgis & Colbourne and the Hampton Dairy.
The exhibition – which includes personal stories, photographs and objects from the Pump Room museum’s collection –
gives an insight into the skills people needed to work in a shop and how the customer experience changed over the course of a century.
Visitors can also dress up, and see the neon sign which graced Toytown in Regent Street.
There is also a chance to explore further by visiting the Shopping in Leamington Spa virtual trail on Historypin.
