The Killers Tribute Band Are Coming To Coventry Kasbah, And You Won't Believe What They're Called

22 years ago, a band that would go on to sell record-breaking songs and albums was formed in Las Vegas. This little rock band turned out to be The Killers. The band has sold over 28 million records worldwide, and for Leamington Spa fans, there’s no doubt ‘Mr. Brightside’ has echoed through the town at some point. It’s a song that’s simply a part of British culture now.

And because of the success beaming from this rock band, plenty of tribute acts have been formed around the world to pay homage to the trend-setting quartet. There are The Killerz and The Fillers. And then there’s The Kopycat Killers (that was fun to say). But we’ll be focusing on The Kopycat Killerz as they will be headlining at the upcoming Coventry Kasbah on the 29th of September.

Kasbah Nightclub

Getting its name in 2007, Kasbah Nightclub is a renowned club in the heart of Coventry that puts on a different show nearly every night. From Bubbleluv Mondays to Tricky Disco on Saturdays, music lovers can get their taste of different genres in a club full of booming atmosphere. And come September, The Kopykat Killers will be gracing the stage to pay tribute to a band that’ll have the club singing their hearts out (yes, we’re talking about Mr. Brightside. But The Killers have other great songs, too!).

The Kopycat Killers

The singer of The Kopycat Killers, Stuart, was told time and time again that he sounded just like the lead singer from The Killers (Brandon Flowers) and was repeatedly asked to cover their music. So, it gave Stuart a master plan: to create a tribute band that would cover the best music from The Killers. The name is genius, too. The Kopycat Killers definitely has a ring to it – it’s comedic but also perfectly captures who they are. It’s memorable, for sure. And we’re sure this has, in some ways, caught people’s attention.

These rather peculiar names can be found all over the upcoming Coventry nightclub event, including the likes of Scam Fender and Subarctic Monkeys; both act as tribute artists/bands to Sam Fender and the Arctic Monkeys. Are these unorthodox names some sort of marketing tactic? We think they could be – the music industry isn’t the only sector putting these comedic names on show.

Online Bingo

An unlikely comparison, we know. But this is an industry where you can find plenty of ‘whacky’ names used for bingo games that catch your eye. On one bingo site, there’s a banner with a header of ‘Tropic like it’s hot’ to help insinuate that playing that particular bingo game lands you free slot spins on a tropical-themed casino game. Smart, huh? There’s also ‘Fluffy Favourites Bingo’. These one-of-a-kind names, at most, are enough to create intrigue in a game that’s full of entertainment in bingo online, just like the tribute bands with comedic names that still provide a great musical spectacle.

Rounding things off

We’re confident that The Kopycat Killers will put on a show at Kasbah Nightclub that even The (real) Killers wish they could witness. Moreover, it’s been interesting to touch on the creative tribute band names that’ll be performing at the club, and how these inventive names can be found in other industries for the same reason: to create intrigue!
