Top 10 European Islands to Fly to by Private Jet

European summer is the hottest holiday to book in 2022. It paints pictures of tanned bodies sliding through bright, turquoise waters, double espressos, oysters, and fresh cherries still warm from the sun. Even the phrase “European Summer” is beautiful; it conjures up images of long, lazy suppers alfresco under a painted sky, slowly filling up with stars.

Booking a European summer holiday requires consideration of the best things in life; booking an air charter service, finding accommodation with a beautiful pool to lounge by, and leaving enough space in your suitcase for all the gorgeous summer clothes you’re going to bring home. Your summer holiday has to be enjoyed at the perfect location, and boy, do we have some of those for you. We’ve put together a catalogue of the top ten most divine European islands for you to jet off to this year.

1. Milos- Greece

Greece is not only a seat of art and reason but also of some of the most perfect archipelagos and islands in the world. The Venus De Milo was found here, so there’s a lot of cultural enjoyment to be had on this lovely island. Indulge in heady Greek wines at the Kostantakis winery if you fancy a day trip or opt to stay on the warm sand and warm, black rocks at one of the many pristine beaches. You could snorkel or enjoy Greek cuisine and stay in everything from 5-star accommodations to backpackers.

2. Ibiza- Spain

Well known as a party island, Ibiza comes alive completely during the spring and summer months. Be prepared to drop a fair amount of Euros if you want to find a spot for yourself when the parties are all in full swing: accommodation prices rise, and decent places to stay become much harder to come by, so book early. If you find yourself in Ibiza outside of party season, the experience is completely different: family-friendly and relaxing. You can spend time exploring the flora and fauna of the island and just generally relax.

3. Hvar and the Dalmatian Islands- Croatia

Over the last few years, Croatia has emerged as a summer destination to beat all summer destinations. The people are friendly and welcoming, and the coastline rivals that of Greece and the Algarve. There are a huge number of Dalmatian islands to choose from, but we most recommend Korčula, Hvar, and Vis. Enjoy wine tasting and vineyard tours on Korčula, immerse yourself in the nightlife on Hvar, and glide through the crystal clear waters surrounding Vis.

4. Madeira- Portugal

The brightly coloured island of Madeira is a gem indeed. This is the perfect place to experience the culture of Portugal and to indulge in some of the freshest, most delicious Portuguese seafood cuisine around. Explore mountains, tropical forests, beaches, and nightclubs to your heart’s desire.

5. Sicily- Italy

Sicily has long distinguished itself from the rest of Italy, and if you visit there, it’s not hard to see how and why. The terracotta houses that rise in levels into the middle of the town are lit up by warm, fiery light as the sun sets, the views during daylight hours are unparalleled, and you can find some of the best preserved Greek ruins outside of Greece here if you know where to look.

6. Skye and the Hebrides- Scotland

A very different kind of island paradise indeed. The Isle of Skye and The Hebrides are lonely, fierce-looking places whose moods can change quickly. There are ancient stones dotted across the coast as though hurled there by some vengeful giant. The beach towns offer unique accommodations and many warm, cosy pubs for afternoon drinks.

7. Corsica- France

Homeland of the infamous Napoleon Bonaparte, Corsica is very different from most other French destinations. This difference comes mainly from the fact that Corsica was not always French but was also once Italian soil. The landscapes here offer a number of different activities, from coastal pursuits to hiking to city life.

8. Malta

Maltese culture is truly unique in many ways, influenced by the many islands and countries that it has traded with for centuries. You could visit the set of the Popeye film, which still stands in all its original glory on the coast. You could take a day trip to the city of Mdina and visit the underground dungeons from years past, or you could hit the beach and tan all your worries away; you decide! Malta awaits, warm and welcoming.

9. Santorini- Greece

You didn’t think we’d feature only one Greek island, did you? Postcard perfect Santorini simply had to make the list. The trademark blue and white dwellings on the hills first come to mind when you think of this sun-drenched destination, but there’s a lot more to Santorini than meets the eye. Take a sunset cruise or a boat tour of the volcano, indulge in food and rest to your heart’s content.

10. Sardinia- Italy

Last but certainly not least, we have Sardinia. Can we ever get enough of beach holidays and splashing around in perfectly clear, warm water? Highly unlikely! Sardinia is the ultimate beach getaway, but don’t forget about all the beautiful old cobbled streets and architecture that you can find in the towns and cities.
