THE VAN Kuijk String Quartet return to Leamington for a concert at the Pump Rooms on Friday January 24.
The young French quartet won the London International String Quartet Competition in 2015 and went on to become BBC New Generation Artists.
The programme features three composers who all moved to Vienna – Mozart from Salzburg, Brahms from Hamburg and Beethoven from Bonn.
The Investec International String Quartet series at the Royal Pump Rooms continues on February 28, when the British based Consone Quartet comes to Leamington for the first time. The Consone are current BBC New Generation Artists and their line-up has musicians with Polish, Bulgarian and British backgrounds, having come together at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
The final concert in the series is given by the Pražák Quartet from Prague on March 20.
The 2019/20 Leamington Music Winter Season continues with three concerts of early music – The Gonzaga Band at Warwick’s St Mary’s Church on January 28, BBC Young Musician of the Year Lauren Zhang at Warwick Hall on February 12, and the Ensemble 360 perform at Leamington’s Spa Centre – a morning Family Concert of Sir Scallywag and the Battle of Stinky Bottom and an afternoon of Mozart quintets – on March 15.
