Correspondent 23rd Aug, 2022   0

The 2022 World Cup is set to begin in November this year. Some of the biggest teams will be in action in Qatar, providing a great sporting spectacle for fans around the world. It will also be a great opportunity for punters to bet on some highly exciting matches through the 10bet sign up offer.

France are the defending champions but there are several other teams who look more likely to land the coveted trophy this year. Below we have listed some of these teams who are top contenders.

1- Brazil

Brazil were the first team to qualify for the World Cup 2022. The Selecao also have the distinction to be the most successful team in the history of this prestigious competition, winning an incredible five trophies. Their most recent World Cup trophy came in 2002 when they defeated Germany in the final.

Tite’s side are also top contenders for the upcoming World Cup. They have some of the world-class players in their ranks. Neymar is regarded as one of the best players in the world who has proved his skills at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. He also has been very successful with the national side, earning 119 caps and scoring 74 goals.

The Selecao also have Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, Casemiro and Richarlison who are capable of taking the game away from the opposition.

2- England

Football is enormously popular in England. They are also the joint oldest national team in football. Gareth Southgate is their current manager and they have a great chance of winning the World Cup.

The previous edition of the prestigious competition saw them reaching the semi-final. However, despite taking the lead, they lost the important match against Croatia 2-1. The Three Lions also had to endure a huge disappointment at the Euro 2020. They made it to the final after impressing in the knockouts but went on to lose the game 1-0 against Italy.

The Three Lions boast one of the best squads in the world and they will make another huge effort to add to their 1966 World Cup trophy. Harry Kane is a prolific goalscorer who can relied upon to produce good quality upfront. While in defense, they have players like Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kieran Trippier and John Stones.

England also have some world-class midfielders, with Jack Grealish, Declan Rice, Kalvin Phillips all part of the squad. Considering all this, they have a great chance to win the World Cup this year.

3- Argentina

Argentina have won fewer World Cup titles than Brazil, with La Albiceleste claiming only two so far. However, they have been able to get the better of their rivals in recent years. Lionel Scaloni’s side outclassed the Selecao in the final of the Copa America, thus winning the competition for an incredible 15 times.

Argentina had a brilliant opportunity to win the 2014 World Cup but narrowly lost the final to Germany in extra-time. They will once again make an almighty effort to land the prestigious trophy.

La Albiceleste will be hoping Messi pulls off a special performance in Qatar. The former Barcelona star is now 35-years-old but he is still impressing with his extraordinary skills in France. The 2022-23 season has seen him strike twice in the first two league matches for Paris Saint-Germain. Messi has achieved almost everything in football and only winning the World Cup for his country remains. He is also one of the most famous footballers, with all of his life aspects generating interest among fans, even subjects like is Messi autistic?

The Argentine is undoubtedly the best player but La Albiceleste are not a one-man team. They also have Paulo Dybala, Emiliano Martinez, Angel Di Maria and Rodrigo De Paul. While Scaloni is a top coach who has been managing the team since 2018. From the start, he has been given the freedom to form a squad of his choice. He knows the strengths and weaknesses of his players and he knows how to make the right adjustments to get the best performance.
