Abandoned dog who bears resemblance to Shakespeare searches for 'fur-ever' home

AN ABANDONED pup is asking ‘Wherefore art thou forever home?’

Staff at Dogs Trust in Honiley are hoping a new family will enter stage left and adopt a dog who has earned himself the nickname ‘The Woof in the Ruff’.

Five year-old crossbreed Rocco was found as a stray, and it has been his resemblance to a famous Warwickshire face which has made him stand out at the rehoming centre.

The pup has a distinctive fur collar – not dissimilar to the ruff worn by William Shakespeare in the 16th century.

Rehoming manager Sandra Foulds said: “Handsome Rocco has so much potential and loves a fuss. We’re hoping that if we put him in the spotlight someone will declare their everlasting love for him.

“He loves being the centre of attention and has boundless energy so will need an active home with lots of direction to ensure he becomes a true star he is destined to be. He could potentially share the stage with another four-legged friend as well as children.”

Anyone who believes they can make the curtain fall on Rocco’s time at the centre can contact dogs trust on www.dogstrust.org.uk or call 0300 303 0292.
