ARMED Forces Week is being celebrated by Warwick District Council.
A number of online events will be held from Monday (June 22) when the flag will be raised at Leamington town hall.
During the week the council will throw a spotlight on the lives of members of the forces from the training programme undertaken by soldiers at Kineton Barracks, West Midland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association and the support given by military planners during the pandemic.
Members of the public will also be encouraged to salute our veterans and remember those who have lost their lives serving their country and post their pictures online.
Council spokesman coun George Illingworth said: “Although there will be no official events this year, it is still important we join together this week to remember our armed forces community and say thank you for their dedication and service to our country. It is particularly appropriate at this time to draw attention to the support which the armed forces are giving in many different ways in dealing with the effects of the pandemic on our local communities.”
