BAKE Off stars are on the menu at Stratford’s new look food festival this autumn.
Local and regional food producers will be the main attraction at the free two-day foodie extravaganza on Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17 – with a particular emphasis on what is available on the doorstep in and around Stratford.
And there will be an extra sprinkle of stardust with TV favourites straight from the Great British Bake Off tent.
More than 120 stalls will line the town’s streets and a cookery theatre is also set to be a major draw.
Stratford BID and Cocker Hoop Creative have teamed up to organise the event.
Stratford BID spokesperson Sky Cole said: “We are thrilled to be bringing back the food festival this year and plan a fantastic event that not only attracts tens of thousands of visitors but also showcases the very best of what this town and area has to offer.”
The new-look artisan event comes after feedback from businesses and visitors that they wanted to see something completely different to what is generally on offer in the town at other times during the year.
Sky continued: “This year we are taking a new direction. There will be a much greater emphasis on local produce and traders, highlighting the incredible craftsmanship and passion that goes into creating exceptional food and drink which complements the rich array of businesses we can already boast in the town.”
She added: “This year’s festival promises to be a feast for the senses, but so much more than that. Visitors can look forward to a whole programme of entertainment with live music performances, interactive workshops, and family-friendly activities that will keep everyone engaged and happy throughout the weekend.
“We invite everyone to join us for a weekend of indulgence, discovery, and delicious culinary delights.”
