THE BATTLE will soon be under way to find the most tree-mendous Christmas tree at All Saints’ Parish Church in Leamington.
There will be a host of decorated trees – each sponsored by a local business or charity – for visitors to admire at the tree festival running from Sunday November 30 until Sunday December 7.
The festival opens at 1pm on November 30 with a day of music, Morris dancing and mince pies, as well as a free drop-in family workshop where visitors can craft their own decoration and hang it on the Community Tree.
This year’s creative workshops are made possible through the support of Art Friends Warwickshire, who have also sponsored artist Libby Elser from Artlab to deliver decoration-making sessions in five local schools.
Over the week, festivalgoers can vote for their favourite tree in the popular Brewers People’s Choice Awards with gold, silver and bronze rosettes and awards up for grabs.
All are invited to take a quiet moment at the Tree of Remembrance, donated by the Leamington Rotary Club. There’s also a children’s activity trail, sponsored by Explore Learning, and a Pop-Up Christmas Gift Fair on Saturday December 6.
The festival’s chosen charity for 2025 is Flourish, who support the self-esteem and wellbeing of girls and young women across Warwickshire.
CEO of Flourish Jenny Dean said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of our work and connect with new supporters. We’ll be running a special raffle throughout the festival to help fund our mentoring programmes and support for girls in the local community.”
