FUNDRAISERS in Bishops Itchington have been painting their village pink in aid of Prevent Breast Cancer.
Residents and businesses united for Paint Your Town Pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
So many events were suggested, and so many people wanted to take part, that the campaign was extended into November as well.
Activities included darts, a quiz and karaoke organised by the local pub, hair shaves organised by the local salon and people dying their hair pink at home.
The church lit its path up pink at night, a walk and cakes were organised by the local running group, interviews with ladies who had been affected by breast cancer were set up, cookies were baked at the local community centre, and assemblies and activities were organised at the school.
The ladies of WI got crocheting and designing a banner. Pink fizz and cakes were sold by the village store, local farm contractors decorated themselves and their vehicles while out mowing local areas, businesses and residents donated prizes for the raffle and auctions, and music bingo was held at the social club.
Altogether £2,887.00 was raised for Prevent Breast Cancer.
