ENGINEERS of the future welcomed MP Matt Western to Warwick Trident College.
The Warwick and Leamington MP, who dropped in as part of national Apprenticeship Week, toured the college’s engineering and automotive facilities, and also met engineering apprentices who study and train at Warwickshire College as part of their apprenticeship.
Mr Western, a former Warwickshire College student, said: “It has been a pleasure to meet and speak to some wonderful apprentices, who have given me an insight into their journey to securing highly skilled jobs within the engineering and motor industry.”
College engineering apprenticeships director Alan May welcomed the opportunity to showcase the work they did.
He added: “Our aim is to equip our apprentices with the skills and knowledge they need through the use of our high-tech facilities and experienced staff to help them succeed across a range of jobs and industries.”
Warwickshire College Group is the largest college provider of apprenticeships in the West Midlands, providing training programmes for more than 30 industry sectors, and has around 2500 apprentices training across its seven colleges each year.
