GUIDE Dogs have been showing a construction company some of the struggles faced by visually impaired people when negotiating roadworks.
GallifordTry have been working on the A45/A46 Tollbar improvement scheme and representative Alan Jones came to see what difference roadworks and permanent changes such as pelican crosses make.
Mr Jones was taken by eight month-old Labrador Freddie around an obstacle course and showed some of the challenges faced by people with a Guide Dog or stick.
The company were so impressed with the charity’s work they made a £250 donation.
And local business Leamington Floors have offered their support to the charity by fitting a new floor and carpet for the family and young people’s room at its Warwick New Road training school.
Guide Dogs spokesman Robert Jinks said: “This room will allow us to support families and the children, by allowing a relaxed atmosphere to learn some skills to ensure their children reach their full potential. We are most grateful to Leamington Floors and GallifordTry for their wonderful support.”
