Charity walk and dog show to raise money for Dogs for Good

Leamington Editorial 18th May, 2018   0

THOSE with two and four legs are invited to celebrate 30 years of assistance dogs at a charity walk and dog show.

The Warwickshire branch of Dogs for Good is celebrating the charity’s 30th anniversary at Abbey Fields in Kenilworth on Sunday (May 20), with a walk from 11.30am followed by a dog show at 1.45pm.

The event is being held in the town in memory of the national charity’s founder and local resident Frances Hays who used to walk her pet in Abbey Fields.

There will be an alternative walk for those with mobility issues and in case of rain.

And there will also be refreshments, food, a picture treasure hunt, face painting and games along with music from Singwell community choir.

Dogs for Good – formerly known as Dogs for the Disabled – provides assistance dogs for those with disabilites and children with autism.

Registration for the walk is £5 per person or £10 per family. Entry to the dog show is £2 per class. All proceeds go to the charity.

Call 07984 235005 for more information about the event or visit www.dogsforgood.org to find out more about the charity.
