A JOLLY good celebrity turned up to switch on Christmas lights in Whitnash.
Father Christmas touched down to help mayor Tony Heath and Sheila Gowlett from event sponsor, Inspired Villages Warwick, flip the switch at the Plough and Harrow pub.
While children queued to see Santa, festive folk were entertained by live bands The Intruder and Chalk Drawings, and magician, John Gordon.
There was also carol singing from St Margaret’s Church Choir, and dance troupes CDP Dance and Fit2Dance strutted their stuff.
And fairground rides and a selection of stalls also helped townsfolk get into the Christmas spirit.
Over the festive season, residents and businesses are also encouraged to illuminate their houses and premises, which are judged by the town council on Sunday December 17.
And awards will be presented at a ceremony at the new year town council meeting on Thursday January 18.
