FELINES of all varieties are being pampered and preened ahead of a major cat show in Leamington next weekend.
The claws will be out at Viking Cat Club’s annual show at Warwickshire College Group’s Sports Centre on Saturday (September 3) and Sunday (September 4) when pedigree cat owners will be battling it out.
An international judging panel will be on hand to select the winners for each breed, before awarding the ultimate prize of Best in Show.
There will be more than 15 breeds and over 90 individual cats from huge and fluffy Maine Coons to petite and naked sphynx.
Visitors will be able to wander around and view the cats and their pens, which have been specially ‘pimped-out’ with cushions and hammocks for the event. There will be plenty of opportunity to see the judges at work, as well as ask the cat owners any questions.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm both days with Best in Show being announced at around 2.30pm.
Entry is £3 for adults and free for children.
