Coaches take on Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital

A TEAM of Warwickshire coaches are raising money by climbing to the highest points in England, Scotland and Wales.

Onside Coaching, which teach PE and organise after school clubs in primary schools across the county, as well as providing holiday clubs, are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Kids Intensive Care and Decision Support (KIDS) team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

And explorer Mark Wood has been helping the team prepare for their expedition. Last year Mark led a three man expedition to the North Pole to highlight the threat of global warming.

Tom Sidwell, Pete Collins, Steve Duffy, Harry Vaughan-Phillips, Maxine Jody Sedgley, Claire Peet, Zoe England, Adrian Bevan, Ella Keal and Mark Morrey – whose son was cared for by the KIDS team – will be taking on the challenge on April 30.

Company director Mark said: “Two years ago, when he was just three weeks old, our son Spencer stopped breathing and was taken to intensive care by the KIDS team.

“The team were amazing and so reassuring during the most difficult time of our lives. All of the money we raise from taking on the Three Peaks Challenge will go directly to the KIDS team.”
