Could the result of general election poll leave sweet or sour taste?

ELECTIONS can often leave a bitter taste but not at a Warwick sweet shop.

Mary’s Sweet Memories is running its own general election poll based on customers’ choice of sweet.

The contenders include – Blue Raspberry Bonbons (Conservative); Strawberry Bonbons (Labour); Lib/Dem (Acid Drops);

Watermelon Bonbons (Green); and Pint Pot Gummies (UKIP).

And the method known as ‘The Sweet-o-meter’, not only correctly predicted the 2015 election, but the fool-proof indicator was spot on with the Brexit percentages split.

Owner Nigel Ackroyd said: “I believe the BBC can now scrap The Swingometer, The Sweetometer is the future!

“We are confident that we will make it three in a row, with a little help from the sweet lovers of Warwick”.

Nigel’s partner Mary Clark – who the shop is named for – also revealed Conservative candidate Chris White was popping his head in regularly to consult the psychic sweets.
