COVENTRY and Warwickshire NHS are urging people to take precautions due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in local hospitals, which is now at over 200.

Professor Kiran Patel, Medical Director at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire has urged anyone with coronavirus symptoms to stay away from hospitals, care homes or any other healthcare setting.

He added that people should wear a face covering and wash their hands thoroughly and regularly.

Professor Patel said to take a test if you can and avoid contact with others if you are positive.

Those who are unwell after testing positive should contact 111 or their local GP.
