Cyclists jump in saddle to support charity Evelyn's Gift

Leamington Editorial 7th Dec, 2017   0

CYCLISTS are jumping in the saddle to support a Warwick-based charity.

Bike-share scheme Nextbike provides 100 cycles to staff and students at Warwick University.

And throughout December the company will be giving half of every £30 subscription to charity Evelyn’s Gift.

The charity was formed by Helen Smith, who wanted to do something positive in memory of her daughter Evelyn Mary, who passed away suddenly in 2013 when she was just seven years-old.

The charity works to train people in CPR and lifesaving skills and to offer acts of kindness to people in need.

Helen said: “We really do rely on donations this has come just at the right time. A lot of what we do is just small acts of kindness, such as providing toiletries, toothbrushes, socks and other essentials to the homeless and we’re currently busy getting ready for Christmas. Any financial help will be very welcome.
