Equinox is the perfect time to level out

WITH many of us coming to terms with the reality of going back to the office as the instruction to work from home is lifted, the sight of the clutter we’ve left behind becomes a constant reminder that we may, just a little, have let things slip.

Things haphazardly piled out of the way to make room for work, new arrivals we’ve ill-advisedly ordered online because we missed the joys of shopping, the remnants of home-schooling still cluttering up the corners of the room and outside evidence that winter tasks in the garden have been pushed to one side.

A good old bout of spring cleaning is called for and – according to Jenny Critchlow from Warwickshire’s Peace Gym – it’s not just our surroundings that need a bit of attention, it us as well.

Spring Equinox – which occurs on Sunday March 20 this year – is, says Jenny, the time of balance, between the Yin aspects of us (nurture, storage, contemplation) and the Yang (growth, expansion, exploration).

“It’s the perfect time to set your house in order both physically and mentally,” says Jenny.

And she’s offering the chance to do just that with two special evenings – on Tuesday and Wednesday March 22 and 23 at the Peace Gym in Claverdon – dedicated to re-establishing calmness and getting a clear focus on what needs to be done as spring turns into summer.

“This beautiful evening begins with a guided meditation, followed by a simple ceremony, setting your intentions for the months up to Summer Solstice,” says Jenny.

“The meditation takes you into the energies of this incredible time of year and allows you to set your intentions for what you would like to see begin to bear fruit

“We’ll follow that with a soundbath, washing away all that you no longer need and bringing you into the energies of Expansion. There is a warm welcome for everyone you do not need any experience of anything to come and enjoy it.”

A practitioner of many years of experience Jenny runs the fully-quipped Peace Gym from her home tucked away in the Warwickshire countryside. Here she offers a full range of healing therapies and tuition in many aspects of meditation, Reike, Shamanic dreaming and the Native American medicine wheel.

She also holds regular soundbaths at home and in village venues bringing an evening of relaxing sounds to many.
