EXPERIENCED mums are showing new mums the breastfeeding ropes.
South Warwickshire NHS Trust (SWFT) is training the volunteer mums to offer support.
Among those volunteering are Polly Hall and Alison Jack who have supported mums in Claremont children’s centre for the past five years.
They have also brought many mums together to get them used to breastfeeding in public.
Breastfeeding has many short and long term health benefits for both mums and babies. In babies this can include a reduction in various infections, allergies, obesity and heart disease in later life. For mums it also reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
