Fines given to those who attended parties which broke covid legislation

FINES will be given to those who broke covid legislation to attend parties in Leamington.

Police received reports of parties in Russell Terrace and Bedford Street on Friday (October 2) and say those who attended will be fined.

Officers also believed another event would be taking place and said patrols would be taking place to ensure it did not go ahead.

Insp Dave Valente said: “People attending the parties last night showed a complete disregard for the law and the safety of others.

“The ‘rule of six’ is quite clear and is in place to help slow the spread of coronavirus. Where there are clear and obvious breaches of this rule we will not hesitate to take action.”
