Fund-raisers go the extra mile for homelessness charity

DONATIONS for a Leamington drop in centre are pouring in after fundraisers went the extra mile for charity.

Over £2,500 has been raised by Harrison Beale & Owen employees Jason Strain, Anthony Baynham, Ian Chetwynd, and Dave Stokes who took on a marathon in Vienna.

The quartet finished well ahead of its £2,000 fund-raising target for Helping Hands, which provides support to vulnerable people, including families on low income, domestic abuse victims and homeless people.

Jason Strain said: “We live and work in this area so we want to help the community where we can, and hopefully this money can go a long way to giving Helping Hands further ability to provide shelter, food and advice for those that need it most.

Helping Hands has helped 1,200 people over the past six months through various projects.
