Funding means more houses can be built on brownfield sites in Warwick district

MORE houses can now be built on brownfield sites in Warwick district thanks to a £1million cash injection.

Warwick District Council has received the cash from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to support its programme of housing regeneration.

WDC is among 100 local authorities nationally who will receive the grant from the ‘Brownfield Land Release Fund’, enabling it to bring forward targeted redevelopment projects on sites which are currently wasteland or where buildings have fallen into disrepair.

WDC housing spokesperson Coun Paul Wightman said: “Securing this funding is a significant boost to our plans to extend and improve our housing stock, allowing us to unlock projects that will bring new affordable, high-quality, energy efficient homes to support the housing needs of our local communities.”
