Grateful patient thanks hospital staff by donating equipment

Leamington Editorial 7th Oct, 2017   0

A GRATEFUL patient has thanked the physiotherapy department at Warwick Hospital with a generous gift.

Alan Johnson received treatment for a lung condition earlier this year through a pulmonary rehabilitation course at the Lakin Road site, which helped him increase his fitness levels.

After hearing the department needed a leg press he set about collecting money from Jephson Lodge, the Round Table and Warwickshire Masonic Charitable Association and donating money himself to fund the £2,000 equipment.

Physiotherapist Elizabeth Sullivan said: “This leg press will enable patients to exercise their legs as a way of regaining and maintaining strength and function. It is great that our patients are so generous and help us to provide the best care.”

And Alan said he hoped the press would help future patients.

He said: “We are very pleased we have been able to help in acquiring this equipment and hope that it will help treat many physiotherapy patients in the years to come.”
