HEALTHCARE staff from across Coventry and Warwickshire have teamed up to celebrate International Nurses Day.
Nurses and Midwives from South Warwickshire Foundation Trust (SWFT) were among those who took part in a procession through Coventry to the cathedral.
The celebration is held every year on May 12 – Florence Nightingale’s birthday – to recognise the life-saving work done by nurses and midwives.
SWFT Director of Nursing Helen Lancaster said: “Every day of the year nurses and midwives provide outstanding, compassionate care to patients all over the UK. It’s fantastic to highlight this vital contribution alongside our local NHS partners.
“It’s really promising to see professionals with a wealth of knowledge and experience working with enthusiastic students who are the nurses and midwives of tomorrow.
“In addition to this event we have had activities at many of our sites to celebrate our nurses and midwives right across Coventry and Warwickshire. I want to take this opportunity to thank them for their hard work and commitment to our patients”
