History comes alive for youngsters at St John's House in Warwick

Leamington Editorial 14th Dec, 2022   0

HISTORY is set to come alive in new classroom spaces at St John’s House in Warwick.

The classroom spaces are part of a new extended history offering from Warwickshire Heritage Learning and will enable youngsters to learn through creative, drama workshops.

The Warwickshire history team is also offering brand new loan boxes to schools.

The boxes include everything needed to travel back in time to a specific period from real museum objects to links to virtual lessons.

Warwickshire County Council culture spokeswoman Coun Heather Timms said: “These workshops inspire curiosity, encourage the creative learner, foster enquiry-led learning and create a love and appreciation of heritage. The team use local history to engage children in national and international histories, drawing on the collections of the Warwickshire Museum and Warwickshire County Record Office.”
